1. Name TV a series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
Way too many. Off the top of my head: Robin of Sherwood, Hamish MacBeth, Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Farscape, HTLJ, Xena, Ally McBeal, Private Practice, Battlestar Galactica (the new one), Star Trek (Classic), Star Trek: TNG, Star Trek: DS9, Millennium, The X-Files, Sapphire and Steel, Demons, Highlander, Highlander: The Raven, Sentinel, Blakes 7, Veronica Mars, The L Word, The Tudors, Dark Angel, True Blood, The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency, Babylon 5, Dexter, Merlin, Lois & Clark, Alias, Leverage...and just about everything David Attenborough has made since 1995. There are undoubtedly others that I'm just not remembering right now.
Oddly I can't include Supernatural on that list because a) I always skip that godawful Ghostfacers ep and b) I still can't make it all the way through Crossroad Blues.
2. Name a show you can't miss.
Supernatural. Even though it's feeling more and more like a train wreck.
3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show.
As a general rule, I don't follow actors from show to show: I get invested in characters, not actors. But I did start watching Greys Anatomy only because JDM was in it. And if Johnny Depp ever makes a TV series again, I'm quite certain I'd tune in. Oh, also Claudia Christian.
4. Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show.
William Shatner. If he's in it, I will not watch. No exceptions.
5. Name a show you can, and do, quote from.
Uh...indirectly, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Just a phrase or two I picked up from my ex, who quoted from it incessantly enough to make me hate the show.
6. Name a show you like that no one else enjoys.
Dick Turpin. Mostly 'cause I feel like I'm the only person who's ever heard of it! (Late 70s, early 80's, British made. I loved it!)
7. Name a TV show that you've been known to sing the theme song.
Dude, I don't sing. And most shows these days don't even have theme songs.
8. Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch.
Hamish MacBeth! It stars Robert Carlisle as the "sheriff" of a "frontier town" in the "wild west" of Scotland. It's quirky and funny and dark in places and gorgeous. The best episode, though, is the one missing from the DVDs (it's the one where the Lochdubh drama group is putting on West Side Story: the BBC failed to license the music rights to include that ep in the original VHS release, and I guess never went back to get them when they made the DVDs. Damn cheapskates!).
9. Name a TV series you own.
Um...almost everything on my list under 1.
10. Name an actor who has launched his/her entertainment career in another medium, but has surprised you with his/her acting chops in television.
The only person I can think of is Ricky Gervais. I actually find him very unfunny as a comedian, but he played a villain amazingly well in Alias.
11. What is your favourite episode of your favourite series?
You know what - to be able to answer that, I'd have to decide what my favourite series is. I'm not sure I can do that.
12. Name a show you keep meaning to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet.
Legend of the Seeker. People keep telling me it's brilliant, and the names behind it suggest I'd enjoy, but there's something about the terminology that puts me off. I'll get around to it someday.
13. Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
Oh, gods yes. 24 (I stuck with it to day four and quit halfway through, realising I no longer cared). Lost (I got lost in season 4). Stargate SG-1 (should never have un-ascended Daniel Jackson). Stargate Atlantis (Rape - not funny. Ever). Torchwood (ditto).
14. Name a show that’s made you cry multiple times.
There must be others, but the only one that's coming to mind is Buffy (The Gift - gets me every time).
15. What do you eat while you watch TV?
Well...my TV is in my bedroom which is also my living room. So all meals, snacks...everything except breakfast.
16. How often do you watch TV?
How often do I watch what's actually on TV? Every day, but usually only the morning news. Everything else I either watch on DVD, catch-up/on-demand, or download. Occasionally iTunes.
17. What’s the last TV show you watched?
Again, actually watched while it was broadcast - Strictly Come Dancing. Otherwise, Last night I watched The Hogfather on DVD.
18. What’s your favourite/preferred genre of TV?
With rare exceptions, shows with a sci-fi or supernatural element in them.
19. What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Robin of Sherwood.
20. What TV show do you wish you had never watched?
Firefly. Because it was truly heartbreaking when it was cancelled.
21. What’s the weirdest show you enjoyed?
Lexx. Though I still haven't seen all of it.
22. What TV show scared you the most?
Uh...the first season of Millennium probably comes closest to genuinely scary. Mostly, though, TV censors prevent shows from actually being frightening. It's possible to do stuff that gets around that, but so few shows seem to make the effort.
23. What’s the funniest TV show you’ve ever watched?
Red Dwarf had its moments. But I really don't enjoy comedy all that much.
Also...it is ridiculous how excited I am about next year's Roadhouse con. I was so thrilled to find a UK SPN con not from Rogue (incompetent, unprofessional) I'm scared now I'll be disappointed.
