I think the reason Brits are obsessed with the weather
...is that ours is so damn weird!
Two weeks of snow, and whenever I go outside I have worn sensible clothing, lots of layers and haven't felt cold once.
Today, walking to work, it was raining. This is good, right? (Or it would be if we weren't now getting flood warnings.) It ought to mean it was warmer? Well, I've no idea what a thermometer would have said but subjectively it was colder this morning than it's been for weeks.
It's not that Britain can't cope with inclement weather. It's that no matter what we prepare for, the weather gremlins send something different!
