What about watching "Skins" and "Smoke Signals"? Chris Eyre, the director is Native American, born in Oregon. He is an excellent film maker and knows his subject first hand. Might help with the 'big chunk'... Gosh, a sequel to Bacchanalia would go down a treat, too!
