I'm bi, if you want to get technical. I just use the term 'gay' as an umbrella, because I dislike 'queer'. I always used it for myself, so it just seems natural to me. Sorry.
But in this case, the binary assumption is the way the legislation is written (and yeah, I know it makes bisexuals as invisible as lesbians), and that's what I'm discussing.
