Curious -- how much prodding did you have to do to get a replacement?

Hardly any. I just described what was happening. The call lasted less than 5 minutes.

I do have to return the broken one, yes, but they gave me 30 days to do so (and at their expense). I was really surprised by how easy it was. (And a little worried - it suggests this is a common problem.)
