While I was reading this post your complaint above jumped out at me. That is something I would trust you to the end of the earth to never do in a story.

LOL! I should bloody well hope not! I do understand plot. I sometimes feel like I sacrifice characterisation for plot - if the story just has to go a certain way I'll force the characters into it - but it means I'm not afraid to do bad things to the characters if the story demands it.
