The weird sound snapped her eyes open and she saw the creature, inches from her face.
Brrrooo! Brrrooo! it trilled.
Sam smiled. “Hey there. Is that your name? Broo?”
It was a furry thing with huge eyes and a long, pointed face that resembled a beak. It blinked at her and cocked its head to the side when she spoke. It was kinda cute.
Brrrooo, brrrooo, it trilled again.
“Hi, Broo. I’m Sam.” She grinned at the thing. “Sorry if I’m in your tree. I won’t be staying long.”
