My version would end with all three of them dead - which is why I don't want to go there. Part of the reason I wrote this was because I wanted to see what a S2 Dean would be like if he hadn't suffered that great loss. But now he's lost Sam, and if I continued the story from here a big part of it would be retreading stuff canon has already done: the whole "you might have to kill him" thing... I don't want to go there when Kripke's already done a better job of it.
