Is this version of The Hogfather another animated story, like the ones that were done a few years back?

Oh, no. Live action. It was very well done, and fairly faithful to the novel (it's been a few years since I've read it, but I think so). And there were funny moments - the appearance of the hair-loss fairy was outstanding.

But overall...just not funny in the way the Discworld books are funny. They'd got the suspense and scary elements down but somehow missed most of the humour. IMHO, anyhow.
