Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year to all my friends!

I've been quiet over Christmas, I know. I bought myself Poser 7 for Christmas and have been happily creating pretty pictures since my fic muse has deserted me (I blame Crossroad Blues. I still haven't recovered from that one).

My cable connection has been pretty whacked over the past week so I've not been online a whole lot. Sorry, guys. It's just been one of those things. I haven't really caught up on my flist but [livejournal.com profile] fluterbev I hope you're healing well, and [livejournal.com profile] betagoddess I'm thinking of you.

I was hoping to ring in the new year with a new fic but nothing doing. It's just not working for me. I've got a few things in the pipeline but nothing finished, nothing even ready to post in WIP form.

I had a great Christmas, though - no major family rows, gift-giving was very successful, I watched The Hogfather twice...is it me or was it just not funny? I mean, it was good and I enjoyed it, but I didn't laugh once. And despite my dead muse, I have lots of stuff to look forward to in the new year.

So, here's hoping all my friends have a great 2007!

Happy New Year to you too.

Is this version of The Hogfather another animated story, like the ones that were done a few years back? Because while I did enjoy them, I can't say I found them laugh out loud amusing either.

Oh, no. Live action. It was very well done, and fairly faithful to the novel (it's been a few years since I've read it, but I think so). And there were funny moments - the appearance of the hair-loss fairy was outstanding.

But overall...just not funny in the way the Discworld books are funny. They'd got the suspense and scary elements down but somehow missed most of the humour. IMHO, anyhow.

Hope we get to see some of the pretty pictures soon?

Happy New Year to you too - glad you've had such a good Christmas. :~)

Um. I don't post my poser art here - it's not fannish stuff. Here are the latest if you're interested:

Thanks for the links - I love your work, but always forget to bookmark. 'Tis age, m'dear *g*

I love them all - but especially 'What Lurks in the Shadows'. Very beautiful and understated.

Yeah, I'm happy with the way "What Lurks" turned out. I spent ages getting the light just right so the dark looks just a little threatening...

I might submit that one to DAZ, actually, I think it's good enough.

It's good to be making art again. My PC's been so screwy lately I couldn't get a decent render out of it!

Thanks very much. I'm still in shock. Mum and I were very close and I shall miss her so very, very much.

Happy New Year to you.
