Writing update
Word count on my Sweet Charity fic: 3200 words so far.
The story is going to need some major re-working as I keep changing my mind as I go along in this first draft. And I'm gonna need to be seriously careful that the dreaded zombie hand of Rob Lowe doesn't make an appearance. The nature of this fic, with one character being unable to see most of the time, makes it all too easy to slip into zombie mode. But it's looking good so far.
I haven't done much more work on my John Winchester fic, but it does now have a working title: Never Say Die.
I don't know if I'll keep that title, but it's way better than the corny idea I came up with first (which was a title poached from a Bond film: I'll let you guess which one). It's important to me to have a working title for a plot-ful story; it helps me keep the structure in mind when I start to write.
I have some more notes down, but not much as I've been concentrating on the charity fic. I have figured out the supernatural side, I think, though so far my idea for a resolution is kinda blah. Hopefully by the time I begin the actual writing I'll have a bit more colour in the idea.
Now the question of pairing is bugging me. This story would work as gen: it's got plenty of plot to sustain it and sex wouldn't be integral. But I do think it would be a better fic if I have a relationship to build on: it just makes everything more complicated, more feelings to deal with, a different kind of angst. [And,yes, I do like to get John laid :-)] But I don't know what pairing would work best for me.
It can't be John/Dean or John/Sam. Not for this plot. It would have to be a relationship that began when the boys were way too young for that to be anything but icky and bad. So no daddycest. Ellen is the obvious choice, as she will most certainly be a character in the story, but it could also be Bobby, or even Bill. Or any two of the above, actually. I guess I'll wait to see what develops. But if you want to vote leave me a comment. I won't promise it'll influence my choice, but it might.
