Shooping rant

I think I went into every single store in Newport that sells clothing in my size. All I want is a new shirt. Not to much to ask is it?

Apparently, it is.

Oh, there are zillions of shirts out there. And every one that's my size is either so freaking short it'd show off my midriff (and WTF is up with that - no woman my size wants to show skin in that area!) or is bloody pink. I do not wear pink. Correction: I own one pink shirt - it's shot silk, so I love it despite the colour. One. That's it.

I swear to goddess, if mens shirts weren't so long in the sleeve, I'd just shop in menswear and be done with it.

Also, why are the shops suddenly full of that horrific large print stuff? It looks like something my grandmother used to wear. Don't tell me it's actually in fashion. I mean, there's a reason we call the 1970's the decade that taste forgot.

*shudders*

In other news... [livejournal.com profile] admiralandrea your package is on the way - posted Friday, so you should get it soon. Keep a drool bucket handy for ep 14, hon, you'll need it!

I'm lucky, I actually like pink *g* I'm with you on the midriff thing though. I like men's T-shirts because they tend to be longer. I don't have a problem with sleeves so much, because I mostly wear short sleeves. But when I do wear long sleeves, as with trousers, everything is too long. Even petite is too long. Cropped trousers are usually just the right length! With you on the 70's styles too!

And squee! Thanks! I look forward to that and will make sure I have the bucket handy!

I know what you mean about trousers. I've come to rather like them too long, though. I guess it's a "if you can't beat 'em" attitude, but after goodness knows how long wearing trousers three inches too long I'm used to it.

I look forward to that and will make sure I have the bucket handy!

Oh, do! I know you're a Dean-gal but Sam is just totally...THUD! (And Dean, too, in that ep - something for everyone - but...well, you know me.)

My sympathies. I stick to catalogs, myself. Stores anymore make me bat shit crazy.

Catalogues stock crap. At least, in my experience they do. I like clothing that's actually the size on the label, and with seams that don't unravel and buttons that stay the hell on!

Maybe I should invest in a sewing machine...

I have resewn a lotta buttons, but it really does depend on the catalog. LL Bean is good/reliable here. And Lands End.
