Tunnel of Love
Creative: Write a love poem to anyone or anything you like

so I mentioned I had done this one but was holding off posting it because it was for D&D. well, it came up in yesterday's session so now I can share it :D

for some context, this is my legend of zelda based campaign. [personal profile] shadowhive's character, a zora druid named ahno, has had an ongoing clueless academics flirting thing going on for a while with an npc, shad (the twilight princess character but reworked for my purposes), and we're about to have a gala at hyrule castle so I had shad follow some info he got about zora courtship rituals from our other zora pc.

one of the things forte mentioned was that zora will write or perform love songs for each other. shad is very much an academic and not a musician, so I had him present ahno with a translation of an ancient love poem he had found. of course I realised that meant I then had to write the love poem, but hey ho. in game I said it was a love poem written by a river zora who fell in love with a sea zora. shad is hylian, so the metaphor for people from two different places coming together held up.

I'm going to post a screenshot because it is specifically formatted and I'm not savvy enough to copy it over correctly on here, but I will transcribe it below.

bricks and mortar

[community profile] sunshine_revival challenge #4

Fun House
Creative: Write from the perspective of a house or other location.

I decided to write a poem, because that's my go to for creative writing.

Psychometry

These bricks hold so much within
Not just space but time as well
The lives I've housed all leave their marks --
Some like freckles, some like scars

I've witnessed love, I've sutured loss
I've kept out danger and bottled up regret
These emotions coat my rooms like fresh paint,
Or fester beneath the surface like mould

Listen closely and you might hear
Echoes of the moments I've been fed,
From first steps to last breaths --
Every house is haunted in the end.

"If walls could talk", the saying goes;
No words I speak but my stone still knows

and an angel's kiss in spring

I'm skipping ahead in [community profile] sunshine_revival for now! as mentioned I have completed challenge #2 but I can't post it yet because I'm using it in D&D and don't want my players who follow me to see it before it comes up in session. which could happen today!! but we'll see how it goes lol.

Challenge #3
Creative prompt: Draw art of or make graphics of summer foods, or post your favorite summer recipes. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I love food and cooking! when it comes to recipes I'm more of the sorcerer class rather than wizard; I just do what feels right rather than consulting a spellbook recipe book. I will use recipes as a jumping off point though and then just adapt as I see fit or once I've made it a couple of times and feel confident enough to play around. when I think of summer foods my mind goes straight to fruits: strawberries and cherries in particular, but I also love the fresh zesty taste of citrus fruits when it's really hot out. all my favourite summery cocktails are citrusy in nature.

I'm making slow cooker lemon chicken for dinner today and that feels like a good summery meal so I'll share that one. as I said, I'm very improvisational with recipes so this more guidelines; do what you will with it!

*weeping in frustration*

Help me, great fandom hive-mind.

I signed up for Netflix.

I updated my iPad iOS. (Two hours.)

I downloaded the Netflix app. (Fifteen minutes.)

I signed into my account.

I clicked on Old Guard 2.

Several sources tell me that I can click the "Download" button to get it on my iPad. But I've looked all over the screen, and don't see anything that seems appropriate. Do any of you know what the hell it looks like, or where it is on the screen?

Alternatively, this article -- https://techdetective.com/netflix-no-download-button/ -- tells me that I can download with Windows 10, which I'd much prefer; I want it on my laptop. But Netflix says it can be download only on Apple or Chrome devices, or Android phones. Can anyone confirm or deny, and walk me through it?

Yeah, I'll watch it through Dish on my TV -- but I want to have it close for when I make a transcript. (I feel like it's kind of my duty...)

Y'know, I'd happily pay $39.95 for a DVD if Netflix would just make available!!! I'd even break down and buy a Blu-Ray player if they put it out only in that format. I just hate this current expectation that everyone is enamored of streaming services. Grrr...

EDIT: Thanks to Mific, I found the download button, and it's in progress. Now to figure out how to get on my laptop... *StarWatcher wanders away, mumbling into her beard*
