Quick movie review: Friday 13th
Well...it's a better movie than My Bloody Valentine. Actually, for a Platinum Dunes film it was downright plotty.
Am I missing the point if I say there was a bit too much death? I don't think so. There's a point beyond which the body count just gets boring. But I did enjoy it, and there were a few surprises - not all of them the horrible kind. Also, it was genuinely funny in a couple of places.
More to say when I'm a bit more awake. Except, you know what really disappointed me? I went to see My Bloody Valentine thinking it would be kinda cool to see Dean Winchester die horribly...and he didn't die. And though I don't hate Sam the same way, I spent most of this movie wondering just how horribly Jared's character would die....and then we didn't see it happen! Where's the fun in two slasher flicks in which the sexiest person on screen doesn't get a nice gory death?
