briarwood | (no subject)

I've decided: I'm not going to the movies this weekend. I actually have Monday off so I might go and see Push then. Or maybe leave it till next week. (What's out next week?)

So no chai latte with Mel (sorry, hon), but instead I can get down and concentrate on my two Big Bang fics. I've also got a backlog of downloaded TV to watch :-)

Also, according to LJ I can have 197 icons. When did that happen? Last time I checked it was 140-something. I usually make my own and only use icons by other people when I really, really like them but I'm in need of icons for all the new shows I'm getting into. True Blood. Terminator. Dollhouse. Hell, I don't even have a Merlin icon. What's wrong with me?

Part of it is I stopped routinely downloading screencaps...which I guess means I need to go in search of some. I know exactly what scene I want to icon for a TSCC icon: the ballet thing at the end of S1. The others I'm gonna need to think about.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I mostly make my own. I've seen some beautiful icons around fandom but I so often find myself wondering why on earth the maker ruined it with...whatever. Usually colour.

I can't see your icons from work - my work firewall blocks most image servers - but once I get home I'll take a look.

Heh, I hear you there. So many makers have a tendency to overload these potentially gorgeous icons with layers and layers of textures and 9 times out of 10, I tweak the colors back to original or a bit better and call it good. If I DO post something with textures, brushes, etc, then I usually post the textless as well. ;-)
