Well, it's morning and I don't see any smoke rising over Newport. BBC News isn't mentioning Newport or Cardiff among the cities that saw rioting last night...but the BBC wouldn't notice if Cardiff vanished into the rift, so I'm not sure that's evidence of peace. I guess I'll find out when I get to work.

I heard they were expecting trouble - a lot of shops closed early. But so far I have't heard of any serios trouble. We may have dodged the bullet. *Fingers crossed*
