Random thought for the day

I did some shopping on my way home.

Tesco (don't judge me - it's the only store within walking distance) has snow shovels, sleds and rock salt/grit piled high at the entrance.

Snow is not forecast; nonetheless this troubles me. What do they know???

HA. Couldn't get the LJ link to comment to open, so using DW instead!

I wouldn't read anything into it - our Tesco has had the snow shovels etc outside in their lobby intermittently since before Christmas. I expect they have to try and sell them at certain times regardless of the actual weather forecast.

I am sure you're right. Nonetheless, my irrational side is deeply troubled by the marketing.

LOL, they probably know nothing. But after last winter, and the snow in october, figured they should order a lot early. And now that January is almost midway through, they figure they might as well put it out to sell to those folks that aren't betting we might be in for a snowless winter..

That's very logical :) And I'm sure you're right. But my feeling isn't rational, you know. It's like carrying an umbrella in the summer because I "know" if I leave it at home, it'll rain. Seeing snow supplies piled high it's like they're casting a spell on the weather!
