Not gonna lie, there were episodes and instances that irritated me and annoyed me and downright enraged me. It's that kind of show. It has a conservative bent and it isn't shy about it. However, the relationship between Steve and Danny and the fact that the women have agency and motivations of their own and are actually people... I'm sold on that, it's really quite amazing considering what kind of show it is and how these types of shows usually use and treat female characters (not saying they don't blunder or there isn't fail - there is, a lot, but it saves itself).
I also came late to the party and the fact that I marathoned the first season really enabled me to love it a whole lot - if you keep going and get to the second season you can read my (almost) weekly metas and reviews (sorry for plugging, but I really want other people to love this show) where I both squee and *facepalm* a lot :)
