LKH has left Merry (and us) with more questions about Doyle and his history than about any of the other guards. Honestly, I'd probably be happy with cover-to-cover Doyle!porn - I don't read the MG books for their depth ;-) [Though I really, really, really wish she'd learn that the word is "come" not "go". And that "cock" is a perfectly good word - her euphamisms get worse and worse all the time.] But I have a mental wishlist for a Doyle book.
I'm not so interested in his love for Andias - that seems fairly self-explanatory, and becoming one of the ravens was supposedly a great honour a few thousand years ago. I want to see something of why he's so scary, and the end of LoF left that possibility wide open. I mean, we've seen plenty of his softer side, his good qualities, and we know he's a great warrior. But I want to see "the queen's darkness". Really see, so that Merry's fear of him in the first book makes sense. I also want to know more about Essus' death and as Doyle was the lead investigator this would be a good opportunity.
