Yes, well. I think the ENTIRE reason why I've read up to now is becasue every time I hope the next book would be about Doyle. And I end up reading about Frost. Or Sholto... or Rhys... yes. More Doyle porn. He stopped appearing in his own porn in book 2. too many OTHER guards. No important metaphysical/emotional sex for Doyle. Bad author.
I was thinking about the entire Essus thing the other day too. I completely forgot he was the lead investigator there. And is the Sholto-Doyle personal issues the same as the Sage-Doyle issues. And why haven't I actually seen more spiders than book1? (a lot of meaningless questions are floating around in my head)
Although yes, I admit. Doyle-Andais seems pretty self-explanatory if you put 1,000 years together. But I dunno... just because you're captain of the guard and you're loyal to your ruler doesn't equate you falling in love with said ruler. Loyalty and that type of love are... cousins, but not its twin.
Actually, I'm more specifically interested in why a former healing god became captain of the guard? (Of course healing is not his main capacity...) And yes. why he's so scary. other than he's an assassin, and the undisputed champion of the court and that he's... the darkness.
I had more questions in my head (nice fluffly questions and deep prophesy induced questions like... if the green man will bring life to the court and the green man is Consort and Consort made Doyle vessel yada yada) when I read the book. But now they're just fizzing out over the idea of a Doyle porn book. I think that phrase short circuited my brain. Maybe there's going to be a mystery in Swallowing Darkness like the first four books... although yes. Doyle porn. I am now running on those two words. ...
