Someone has got to be kidding.

My home doesn't often hit headlines. But this is ridiculous. A naked man mad entirely of cloth and stuffing - and not even slightly realistic - is, apparently, upsetting the public.

I've seen it - I think he's cute in a punchbad sort of way. Upsetting? Obscene? Certainly not.

The fake figleaf on the other hand? Now that's taking things way too far.

That seems a really poor application of S5 of the Public Order Act to me. I don't see how anyone could be harassed, alarmed or distressed by that, unless it was due to his being so unrealistic ;-) That could be distressing! Jobsworth or what?

Exactly. More to the point, there's stuff in town that genuinely could be distressing (the Wildings Christmas display is, I swear, designed by Tim Burton on crack). But naked pillow-man? Nah.
