Eureka! and other stories
I had my Eureka moment this morning for this SPN fic I'm writing. See, I got to the place where it was originally supposed to end and realised this couldn't be the ending. But I didn't know where it was going. Now I suddenly realised what is going to happen and what Sam will do. I'm jumping up and down with excitement because this is really, really cool. I've got some stuff to figure out still, but progress is being made.
That's the good news.
The bad news is I'm sick. I think it's just a cold, but this one has hit me like a ton of bricks. I can't sleep, I can't talk without coughing, my hearing is whacked out and...but you get the picture, huh. I've been curled up in bed with lemsip, hot water bottles and my DVDs of Angel. It's ages since I revisited the early seasons and I'd forgotten what a great character Kate was. Why isn't she showing up in SPN crossover fics? Cause, seriously, that would be a cool crossover. With her no-shades-of-grey outlook she's actually a better fit in the SPN 'verse than she was in her own. She's got the background for a hunter, too.
*shakes head* like I need more plot bunnies right now.
I'm going back to bed. I've got to pretend to be fit for work in the morning :-(

Hope you feel better soon. I don't know about there, but there's a nasty bug going around here and we all have it. It kept M home most of last week and poor hubby has it now and he's on vacation. (what a bummer!)

Yeah. Now all I have to do is rush to finish it before any new eps come out and ruin my story. I have this thing where, when I get Jossed mid-fic I just can't finish. So far SPN hasn't done that to me.

I never realy liked Kate's character in Angel, but you're quite right - she has the perfect background for a Hunter.

Well, she wasn't meant to be likeable. But she was a great character. Human and flawed. She wasn't like most antagonists where they're just "bad". Kate was on the right side, and she did the right thing most of the time. She just had this black and white view of things: once she learned about Angel's past she could never see him as reformed - kind of a typical cop.
