Y'know, I really dislike recs that just say "you've got to read this fic", but guys, you have got to read this fic.

Saturn's Shadow by ponderosa121 over on IJ.

I do not have the words to explain how wonderful this story is. It's SPN slash, and the pairing...well, the pairing is Dean/Bobby, but it's so not about that. It's about Dean and Sam and how broken Dean feels without his Sammy. It's about Bobby and John and how screwed up they both are. It's totally fucking heartbreaking and seriously, guys, just go and read it.

I usually skim by recs (about as much as you don't do them *g*) - however it's Ponderosa, so there ya go. That alone is enough to make me check it out. *g* I've saved the tab in Taboo, though, and will get it later (on my way out for lunch with family).

I guess if you only read one pairing it can be a risk to try others. Like I said, this story isn't about the pairing. I wouldn't normally slash these two myself but IMHO this story is well worth it.

I read it, and I liked the story. :) it would have been better without the slash though.
