Well...that's a bitch

Apparently Zone Alarm is frakking my computer. As it, with ZA active I cannot access the internet. At all.

My copy of Zone Alarm is up to date and the license hasn't expired. So what the hell is going on? I have a choice between no internet, and surfing without a firewall???

Can anyone recommend a good, and preferably free alternative?

It's doing the same thing to me (or, it was) - it had my settings on "stealth mode". I'm pretty certain I didn't do that. But now I've set it back to medium, it seems to be working okay...

Huh. I'll try that. Thanks.

ETA: Yeah, dropping the security level seems to work...but that doesn't feel very safe to me. :-(

Ack. Even adjusting your settings, you can't? That sucks.

Also, I got nuffin as I'm using a suite provided by my ISP. Hope you sort it soon.

I seem to have it working by changing the security level...but damn it that's almost as bad as turning the durn thing off.

I found a link that says to uninstall the last windows update to fix it but not how to do that.

Ack and that I have no idea as I almost never install Windows updates unless I absolutely HAVE to. What a pain in the ass.

Might have know it'd be Microsoft's fault. Thanks for the link!

Thanks, I just had some microsoft updates and that one was listed, and funnily enough I don't want to install it now! :)
