Glee

I had a crappy day yesterday.

I saw The Dark Knight which totally blew me away with awesomeness and was the day's one bright spot.

Suffice to say right now I'm not speaking to a single member of my family.

I was so pissed off, that when I finally got home I didn't even turn on my PC or check my email. And I really should have, because when I woke up this morning I found this story all over my flist:

Fanlib.com are going down!.

*salts them, burns them, and roasts marshmallows on the funeral pyre*

Today will be a better day.

Sorry you had such a rough day yesterday *hugs*

Thanks.

It's not a story I want to share, but the hugs are much appreciated.

Sorry to hear you've had a rough time of it with your family. Email if you want, but obviously if you prefer not to discuss it, no probs.

Fanlib is clearly one of those things I know nothing about like OTW (whatever that is) and Laura Hale and the wiki thing. :gets more comfortable under rock:

I'm alright. Just the usual tale of inconsiderate b******s except this time it was the dogs who suffered for it...and they expect me to take the blame. When I didn't know a damn thing about it.

*takes deep breath*

*smiles*

Fanlib was a bunch of suits who thought they could make money off fanfic. They figured the best way to go about this was to piss off some fans. You're probably best off under that rock but [livejournal.com profile] life_wo_fanlib can satisfy your curiosity.

OTW you should check out. I have misgivings about some of their plans but the "archive of our own" project is mindblowingly cool and I certainly plan on putting my own fic up there when it opens.

The wiki...well, again you're better off under that rock. Did you ever post at fanfiction.net? If you did, you should check out the recent posts in [livejournal.com profile] metafandom about Laura Hale and her project...if not just pretend she doesn't exist.

Oh dear, sorry to hear about that! Wrong that the dogs should have to suffer from their insensitivity.

Do you have a link for OTW?

Fanlib, I shan't worry about, if it's over already. As for ff.net, I am registered there for story alerts, as a lot of gen Numb3rs authors post there, but that's it. [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt gave me a few links to info on the Laura Hale thing and yeah, I'm happy under my fannish rock *g* And lucky I'm a nobody in fandom, I reckon!

OTW: the official site is http://transformativeworks.org/ but you can learn more from [livejournal.com profile] otw_news if you have time to go through the history of it.

I mentioned ff.net because if you're registered there, there's probably a page about you at the wiki: they have a bot that collects profile info from ff.net. Probably not an issue for you either way, but you should be aware of it.

Thanks for the links, I'll have a look.

I'm not worrying about the wiki, I think I'm OK on that front.
