Amber

Amber returned to the vet again today. She is, according to him, still running a high fever, but she's off those awful steroids now. She's still got some antibiotics to take; I can't really argue that, given the fever, and something else that's...well, Rocky takes it as a painkiller but I'm guessing it's the canine version of paracetamol as the vet said it should bring her fever down.

But the good news is she seems much better. She's got a lot more energy, she's playing again (actually, I'm wondering if there was testosterone in that painkiller, given the way she was playing...but 'nuff said about that). I still want to strangle that idjit vet for making her sick in the first place, but the worst seems to be over.

[In other not-news, I've got some stuff I need to get done this week so I probably won't be around much. I still read my flist; I can do that from work, but I don't think I'll be posting. If anyone wants to get hold of me, email is best. Or phone, for those who have my mobile number :-)]

Given that her fever was still elevated, I'd say that the antibiotics were due at this point. Poor thing. *snugs*

Yes, I agree. I just wish I trusted this vet to know what he's doing. Someone suggested exploring holistic vets, which I think is a fantastic idea, but there doesn't seem to be one close enough.

She's better. I'm sticking with that :-)

Yeah, can't say I blame you there. *hugs*

I'm so glad she's feeling better, in spite of the vet. Sheesh!

Yeah, me too. Happy dog means happy me.

I suppose the vet still thinks it's ok to charge for making her better, even though it was his fault in the first place?

However, the fact that she's getting better is fantastic.

I'm sure he does, though everything but the blood tests is covered by the insurance anyhow. He's never going to admit it's his fault.

The difference in her is amazing. She was all bouncy again last night. It's such a relief.

I'm glad that Amber is getting better. Can you make a complaint about the vet?
