More about my bizarre computer

I was just about to post that I have no update on my bizarre PC issues when...it spontaneously fixed itself!!!

Seriously, dude, my computer is possessed. I have done nothing today that could have repaired this problem. I ran a virus and spyware scan overnight but neither reported finding anything.

But I can get into my website!!!

Thanks to everyone who tried to help. I was totally freaking out over this.

*takes deep breath*

One of the reasons I've needed to get in to the site is the web host keeps changing some setting in the PHP without telling me. This doesn't seem to affect my fiction, which is really all I care about, but it messes with my art gallery installations and since I don't often update the galleries, I don't notice for ages. So I wanted to back everything up and move the important gallery - my 3D art - over to my Dreamhost account.

As I couldn't get in to back stuff up, I ended up starting again from scratch and just transferring the domain over. It'll take a while to get the old site repaired, and there might be pics I've missed because my files are all over the place, but I've spent the past week on site design and so on.

Right. Now I've got three fics to re-edit and post!

I'm glad your computer problem spontaneously fixed itself - I hate hate hate when computers suddenly start messing like that for no apparent reason. Grrrrr. Please let us know if you ever find out what happened ::hates mysteries!::
