Anyone near Cardiff/Newport

Hey, guys, my birthday is in about seven weeks away and I'd really love to arrange some kind of get-together. I wish I could host something at home but I can't - too many people in this house already! But maybe we could do an evening out, or a pub-meal.

I know a several of my friends are within reach of Bristol/Newport/Cardiff - who's in? We can pick any of the three cities. Maybe Friday 14th November? Or the Saturday?

Please comment if you're even remotely interested and I'll see if it's possible to co-ordinate something.

Yes, I'd be interested. Saturday might be easier for me, just in terms of getting anywhere on the Friday night after work. I'd have to investigate trains.

Course there is a *slight* possibility that I could have moved to Taunton by then, in which case it'd be a moot point anyway!

Trains are pretty regular from Bristol. Both Newport and Cardiff are on the London-Swansea route.

If you're in Taunton by then, would a meet in Bristol work for you?

Just having a look at the National Rail website, both Newport and Cardiff are do-able from Taunton - I can get a direct train to either, and it takes around 2 hours or so. Bristol would obviously be quicker, if it came to that, so that would be preferable, particularly if it were on a Friday night.

It's the weekend of Eclipse 2, but I don't have a ticket, so can easily come to see you instead!

Bristol is obviously much closer for me, but I can try and make it to Cardiff if necessary.
