Finally someone has admitted that she is responsible for further education funding at work. I have been promised an application form.

This is progress, I guess. Slow, slow...goddess knows when I'll actually know whether they'll give me the funding.

I'm about to sign my life away for this course - money aside I will have to withdraw myself from most of my fandom stuff in order to do this right (and what's the point of doing it if I won't do it right?). Damn, it'd better be worth it...

Good luck with that.

What are you going to be doing?

And if it helps, you can balance fandom, FT work and the higher/further education thing. It just takes practise and the odd nervous breakdown. You're not particularly attached to sleeping are you?

Next year, Intro to Social Science. Which, in theory, at least, I should be able to do in my sleep. What I'll do after that depends on the funding issue. If work will fund me, I'm going to try for Politics, Philosophy and Economics, but might have to settle for the diploma in Economics instead.

If work won't cough up, I'll do what I damn well please! Which will probably be the most eclectic mixture of courses I can find.

No, Kip. You can, and a couple of my other friends can. I can't. The advantage to having quit uni once already is I do know my capabilities. If I want to get decent grades there might be some fannish things I can still do; I won't leave LJ, but writing fanfic will be off the table.

(And I tried the not-sleeping thing when I was with NTL. I ended up on the sick for 9 months and nearly lost my job because of it. Not going there again.)
