Another year, another...

I don't do new year's resolutions, but this year I do seem to be planning ahead much more than usual. I guess it's a type of resolution.

January is a gathering myself month: I want to get started on my SPN blog again (Note to self - gets those recs up!), and I need to sort through my WIP file and figure out which stories I can finish before May. I've also dug out my old philosophy books and I'm having another go a getting my head around Descartes...it's an old vendetta of mine. I love his starting point, but his conclusions make no sense and I can't understand how he gets there. [livejournal.com profile] thanatos_kalos tells me I need to explore Plato. Book found on Amazon, nice and cheap. Also MBV in the cinema, and the third Underworld movie!

By February I will hopefully know whether work will fund my return to university, and this will determine whether I can buy a new PC or must muddle through with the old one. (I swear it's cursed. If I didn't have three dogs I would have put it in a salt circle by now. I fix one thing...something else breaks.) Friday 13th in the cinema. Seems like 2009 is going to be a horror movie year.

March and April: write, write, write. My Uni course begins in May and I am working on the assumption that I'll have no time for fic once that begins. If I'm wrong - great! Also at the end of April my mobile contract is up for renewal and I really, really want one of these. I am not normally a gaget freak but this is the coolest thing I've ever seen. I don't care much about cameras in phones and texting is the devil's invention, but this "phone" would be seriously useful!

May is the beginning of my course and also Asylum month! I am so organised, I've already booked my hotel and travel for Asylum. I just need to figure out what leave I need from work. And make my t-shirt.

I'm not planning for much beyond May because I'm not sure what demands this course will make on my time. I'm figuring on a routine of two hours per day and four on Saturdays, which would leave me time for other stuff, but we'll see. Summer plans depend on the weather anyhow.

I want to go away for Christmas next year. I'm thinking Liverpool, but I don't know if finances will allow. What I'd really like is to book a week's stay at the Adelphi...but that ain't likely unless I win the lottery. Maybe there'll be some good offers but I'll have to check later in the year.

I hope all your plans come to fruition in 2009!
