Demons

So, ITV's Demons...

They've been promoting it in cinemas for ages, so I figured I'd check it out. It's not as bad as ITV's usual attempts at...well, anything that's not soap or reality TV. But it's no Supernatural that's for sure. Mostly it's a Buffy rip-off; the Watcher godfather is even called Rupert. Mother isn't as cool as Joyce Summers, and I wish someone would realise that there's more to England than London.

The lead is can't act. That's what happens when you cast for eye candy.

On the plus side, Mina is hot. And she can act. (ETA: I knew I recognised her! She was in Affinity last week. Now she's really hot!)

What did you guys think?

I need to watch it again, but currently I'm underwhelmed

Yeah, me too. But I try not to reject a show on just one episode. Pilots usually suck.

I've not seen it yet (watching Keanu Reeve's definition of acting this evening) but hoping it'll be fun.

Or that kind of dodgy that you actually develop a soft spot for? And hot girls are never bad.

Yes...that's possible. I don't think it was terrible enough to fall into the "so bad it's brilliant" category, though.

And hot girls are never bad.

Mm. Mina definitely has potential.

YES, THIS. And also that Manchester isn't the only city in the north. Because on the rare occasions they acknowledge there's a north, they'll go with a Manc.

Agreed. Especially with a show like this which seems to rely on a certain mythology, you'd think it would occur to them that a setting like, say, York would actually work better.

But no, it has to be London or the Yanks they're hoping will buy the series won't understand it's England.

She was also the doctor in Survivors ^_^! I haven't watched last night's episode yet, but I agree with everything you say about the first one, but I'm going to give it a chance...
