Gotta laugh, or I'd cry

So...remember my post yesterday about the Atheist Bus Campaign?

It had to happen.

I almost want this to go to court. It won't but I'd love to force a ruling on this.

ETA: For those who don't know, Christian Voice are the UK's equivalent of Westboro Baptist Church. They're the ones who tried to talk the CPS into prosecuting the BBC under blasphemy laws for airing Jerry Springer the Opera. Hate-mongers, in other words.

ETA2: Iconed!

Goodness, what a load of old b*llocks! And I love the quote at the end, about the ASA ruling on the probability of God's existence! *g*

Oh, can you imagine it? Those blithering idiots who honestly believe God put the fossils there as a cosmic practical joke, up against intellectual giants like Dawkins and Grayling?

I wanna buy tickets!

Yeah, absolutely! And I know you're peripherally into Numb3rs, but don't know that you're in any Numb3rs comms, so I thought you might find this article interesting
http://www.jewishjournal.com/television/article/judaism_plus_fbi_add_up_for_rob_morrow_in_numb3rs_20090107/

It's all about the increase in Judaism in the show and Rob Morrow's part in it.

Mm. Interesting article. Thanks for the link.

(I watch Numb3rs 'cause it's fun to spot when they get the math wrong; I'm not really fannish about the show.)

For me Don's sudden religiosity doesn't work simply because I think if you're gonna go there, you can't do it superficially, and Numb3rs has always been too superficial in its emotional storylines. I get that that's the genre but you can't just touch on something as profound as spirituality. You have to explore it properly, or don't go there.

With Larry they got the balance about right; with Don it's like he's Don most of the time and for about 45 seconds per episode he turns into someone totally different. And that's not the actor's fault; it's the scripts.

No probs. I didn't think you were particularly fannish about it.

Hm. I think we have a different perspective on that. I think they've gradually been adding depth over the seasons, as they develop the characters - which Rob Morrow has been the driving force behind, from what I've read. And I agree, they can't explore it properly, but I think it's good they're exploring it at all. Like with the maths, perhaps it will inspire other people to take it further and investigate for themselves.

Tee hee hee... I'm afraid that's the only words I can have.

Oh, yeah. Me too.

Oh how wonderful! That's the best laugh I've had all day, thank you.

Adore your icon too *g*

I know. He thinks there's evidence that God exists. Evidence so compelling that a government agency will be forced to rule on it!

D'you think he claps his hands for the fairys, too?

Oh my f'cking gods! Live and let live!
They'd probably drag creationism, or whatever it's called in English, into it as well and try to defend that too, seriously, you have to laugh or you'd get really angry.

Oh my f'cking gods! Live and let live!

Not a chance. That lot would bring back the inquisition if they could.

*giggles* It actually amuses me that they're complaining on grounds of truthfulness.
