No snow yet...

All the weather reports are saying we're going to get major snowfall. I tend to take this lightly because where I live extreme weather generally misses us. On the news this morning they were talking about parts of the country being paralysed by "heavy" snowfall, but all the video showed barely an inch of snow. That's typical UK overreaction: a teeny bit of the white stuff and we panic. Just wait until it's really snowing...

Last night sis informed me it was snowing here, but this morning there's hardly any to be seen: just edges of white along the roadside and pavements. This is good, since I had to walk into work regardless. (I actually am kinda hoping for a little snowfall this time around because Amber has never seen snow and I'm dying to see her play in it.)

Still with more snowfall forecast for later today here's hoping I don't get snowed in at the office!

ETA: Frak. It's snowing now. Doesn't look too heavy though...at least not yet.

ETA2: I'm now home. Snow is falling, but it doesn't seem to be settling. I suspect this may change overnight.

Yeah, a whole cm of snow here, the horrors!!!

Of course, when I'm stuck at work overnight because of 6 foot of snow landing during the day, then the weathermen can laugh at my lack of faith in their doomsaying, and you can join in and have a chuckle too :)

Oh, I won't be laughing. If we get major snow here in Newport it means the rest of the country is genuinely in trouble.

So far, so good, though :-)

Still a whole cm of snow here and nothing else, even the Clwydians looming up behind where I live have nothing more than a light dusting so far. I think this major UK wide weather trauma can be translated as 'snow falls in South and East of England'

Yes. Once again London+Sussex=England.

Still, we had about 3 inches of snow overnight; I'm guessing elsewhere it's pretty bad.

LOL - I adore it when we have a quarter inch of snow and everything grinds to a halt. We're all barking mad *hg*

Apparently there are no buses running at all in London this morning! OMG the horror, the tragedy. Um, guys, most of us are lucky to see one bus a week. In good weather. ::shakes head::

Oh, I know. As a nation we seem utterly incapable of coping with a little of the winter weather that so many of our online friends deal with for months every year. It's truly pathetic.

I do want to see Amber playing in the snow, though :-)

Too cute! Pictures please if it happens!

I'll try. We have real snow now but it didn't show up until after dark. If it stays all day I'll try to get piccies after work!

We are to get more snow tomorrow. As it is, we have ten inches of snow and ice already and I am weary unto death of it!!!

Ten inches! Wow. The last time it was that bad in Newport I was seven. I don't blame you for being sick of it; I'm not a fan of the white stuff myself.

Still, it's an excuse to wrap up warm and drink lots of soup.
