Elsewhere I've been havn discussions about this Season's Sam and his behaviour. We all know Sam is willing to cut his family off and look after his own best interest (entirely justifiably in the case of Stanford IMHOP) but now that the potential cost so much higher for himself, Dean and the world and the goal is more morally clouded (depending on what he's really after because we don't know that yet), the question is whether Sam was always capable of this or whether something/someone has been playing on his weakneses to effect a change.
