SUMMARY: In the Winchester house, when things go bump in the night, it's best to have a gun under your pillow.
NOTES: Set pre-series: Dean is 18, Sam 14. My original version was very light on the subtext, but phantomas promised to howl outside my window on full moons until I'd done the Dean-POV version :-) And somehow, I ended up giving John a chapter, too. The title, just in case you don't recognise it, is Sam's description of his family from the pilot episode.
