This heatwave can cool off any time now
Jun. 28th, 2010 09:39 amAnother utterly unproductive weekend as far as my commitments are concerned; I owe artwork but all my art software requires either the desktop PC or one of my external drives, neither of which I can use in this heat. I just need two days in which my room is not an inferno...is that really too much to ask?
I didn't go to the movies this weekend as it was the whole armed forces week thing in Cardiff and I really, really wanted to avoid that. So I was just hanging out at home, trying not to be in the way of the Family.
I finally found an extension lead long enough to let me use the laptop in the garden, so I managed to type up all my fic notes from last week. The Sam/Jess fic is at 19,300 words (When did I start writing this? It's only been a few weeks, I'm sure. That's like...amazing for me). And that's about halfway through the original outline. I'm loving it :) This is so totally different from anything I've written before: a tight POV, a traditional haunted-house story (though with a twist, but that won't come until the very end) and I'm loving writing about a Sam who's happy and content with his life. As well as getting to know Jess; I never really paid much attention to her before. (I really need a Jess icon, don't I?)
Plan for this week: whatever it takes to survive the heat! I must find a way to make my room livable so I can get this artwork done...or at least started.
