Is everyone okay?

My friends in cities that have seen rioting - are you all okay? I think I've seen most of you check in but not everyone.

I have family in London but everyone is okay so far; most of my family aren't close to the affected areas.

Local gossip is Cardiff city centre is stuffed with cops anticipating trouble tonight, and Newport city centre has been closed by police. I don't know if that's true; it's just what's reached me on the grapevine. None of the local news sites confirm it, but that's not proof of anything - around here 'timely' is within 24 hours of it being over. I don't live or work close enough to the city centre to be in any danger if we do get a riot here. Still, I'd like to know what's going on in my town.

I was expecting to head into Cardiff tomorrow evening for a movie...I guess I'll wait and see what's happened overnight.

Meanwhile...I know it's been ages since I updated. This always seems to happen to me over the summer. I'm posting every day in spn_summergen so I feel like I've been posting loads. But I guess I haven't.

My good news: I made the last payment on my Christmas holiday so I am officially going away this year. You know, I just want one Christmas where I can get up when I want to (early!) and go to bed when I want to. I will be going to Exmouth, so I anticipate a Christmas morning walk along the beach. Just as long as we don't get blizzards like last year.

Also good news: I have a week off next month and I'm going to Liverpool for part of it. I'd go for the whole week but I'm needed at home Thursday. Still I'm looking forward to the trip, riots or not. I love Liverpool. I have since I first saw it. (Except for all the football.)
