Mar. 2nd, 2012 03:55 pmIt's been a long week. What with a training course in work Mon-Tues, Orange Wednesdays and a bit of a culinary snafu Thursday, this is the first evening this week I've had a chance to just do nothing.
Last night's brave and bold attempt to slow-roast a chicken...well. See, what happened is Mum suggested I switch to using the top oven so she could cook for the useless fiance, because Sis was going to be late. I was fine with this suggestion. However, while the main oven tends to be hotter than the temperature dial, the top oven tends to be cooler. But we use it so rarely I didn't realise this. The result was it added another hour to my cooking time. It was 8pm before I could sit down and eat...though believe me, it was worth the wait! I forgot to take pictures, I was so tired.
Tomorrow I am shopping with Mum. She needs a new outfit for a wedding at the end of this month, and we're going to see if we can get around the big department stores in Cardiff. Mum's disabled and can't walk around much so I'm not sure how long she'll last. But we'll give it a good try.
