Catch up...

I'm going much too long between posts again. Sorry about that, but I'm still here, still alive and all that. I'm just so darn busy lately.

This weekend has been a busy one, fandom-wise. It was the deadline for the sentinel reverse bang, which I co-mod, and just about everything came in on time, which is fab. Apparently I've managed to piss off a couple of people, though. Not that this shocks me: every challenge I mod there's always someone who thinks either rules only apply if she agrees with them or we should make exceptions because she's such a special snowflake. Screw that. (And no, honey, I'm not 'nice'. I'm a bitch. It's what makes me a good mod.)

I've also been working on the signup form for spn_summergen which is a monster task. We closed nominations on Friday. Nominations is essential, so I can get as many of the wanted options in signups as I can, but people always go nuts on the crossover noms. I wouldn't mind, but I know that only about half of those options will even be used when people begin signing up. And then I get the opposite problem with genre - the list ends up so short I know I've got stuff missing. Still, it should work out okay. Summergen is exhausting but always, always worth it. Next job is to dig out my 'lessons learned' doc from last year and see if I need to change anything in the rules before I post them. Signups open on Friday!

Someone commented on one of my old fics a few days ago - not one of my best. It's a Jo/Ash short fic. But it made me re-read the story and now suddenly I have a new fic in my head. Which was a nice excuse to re-watch some season 2 eps. I sure miss the old SPN.

Speaking of SPN, is anyone else watching JDM's new show? I saw the first ep and wasn't much taken with it, though it might have potential. Pilots are often a poor hook for a show; paradoxical but true. I plan to check out Grimm and Once Upon a Time, too, but I'm waiting till I can get a full season. I keep catching the previews for Grimm and it seems really good.

I got to the end of Hawaii Five-0 season one. I still think McGarret is an asshole, though he'd become slightly less annoying by the season's end. The sidekick just doesn't do it for me. The actor is very distracting...there's something about his voice that makes me think I've seen him in something else, but I checked out his IMDB and as far as I can tell, I haven't. But it nags at me every time he opens his mouth. I might check out S2, just to see how that cliffhanger resolves, but I don't see me going the distance. Just not my thing. I need to really like the hero to get into a show, and this guy is an ass.

1. Summergen stuff ready for signups
2. TS reverse bang...as final drafts come in
3. I really must finish my two wips as I'm itching to start on the novel.
4. Uh...coding stuff for Geonn's site. If I can manage without sleep for a while as there's a lot of it.
