Lack of inspiration

I am totally uninspired this week :-(

I'm struggling to finish this Sentinel fic I promised to [livejournal.com profile] betagoddess ages ago. It's not a bad fic, and it lives in my head, but the words just won't come. I haven't watched any Supernatural for two weeks 'cause that show screws up my Blair-voice. I've tried music, I've tried Dante's Peak (don't ask me why, but that movie nearly always gets me writing) and...still nothing.

Maybe it's just a bad week.

Poppi had her operation on Tuesday and she's been pretty miserable since. No surprise. She perked up a little today, though.

Next week the builders are finally coming to repair our kitchen roof. Apparently they found asbestos in it, and there are only two firms in Wales who can deal with that. Apparently. Sounds like smoke to me, but... We have to clear out of the house completely while the work is done - not a problem for me as I'll be working but I'm not sure what Mum will do. Or the dogs.

Okay. I'm gonna dig out my Sentinel DVDs and give this thing the old college try.

Sorry you're stuck; I know how frustrating that can be...

Yeah. It's not just this one fic - this week, it's everything. I can't even icon.

It'll pass... :-)

Aw man, that sucks! At least you have a positive attitude about it.

Well I hope that watching your Sentinel DVD's has the desired result and that they inspire you to finish your story. If it keeps you writing TS longer I would say forego Supernatural altogether, but that's just me being selfish. :D

Maybe you just have a little too much in real life to deal with at the moment hence the lack of inspiration.

As for the removal of the asbestos and the apparent lack of choice available. I do believe that, due to the health problems associated with asbestos, a special licence issued by the Government - by the Enviromental Health Department - is required.

SPN doesn't stop my writing TS; it just messes up Blair's voice in my head. It's a vernacular thing: Blair, as you know has a very distinctive way of speaking. The vernacular in SPN is just similar enough that if I try to write Blair when I've been watching SPN, he ends up talking like Dean. Which is so, so wrong.

I do believe that, due to the health problems associated with asbestos, a special licence issued by the Government - by the Enviromental Health Department - is required.

Yes, you're probably right. The choice was all made by the insurance company anyhow. It's not the lack of choice but the timing that bothers me. I mean, asbestos is supposed to be dangerous, isn't it? The insurance folks even told us we shouldn't go into the kitchen until the ceiling is fixed (which with the layout of our house is impossible anyway) and we've been waiting since before Christmas for a date for this job to be done.

I'm not worried about the danger part - if there's enough asbestos in there to cause a health issue it's already too late for me: I've lived in that house since I was six and the ceiling's been buggered for years - it's just this last disaster finally prompted Mum to get it looked at. It's just that, if these people believe there's a danger, what's taking so frakking long?

Sorry. Didn't mean to rant...

I'm sorry you're struggling with it, but don't do that for me! =>}

Take it easy, leave it for a bit and it will come to you later. I can be very patient. =>}

*hugs*

Thanks, hon, but I think you've waited long enough. I want to finish this fic for you.

Well, it's really VERY nice of you! Hope your muse cooperates soon then!

Still, I can be patient. *g*
