Life, the universe...
Mar. 25th, 2008 08:36 amI didn't finish Never Say Die (and the more I write of the story, the less I like that title. It just doesn't feel right, but the other ideas I have are kinda spoilery for the fic)). I got a lot done - all of chapter nine and part of ten on paper. My "official" word-count is unchanged because I don't count it until it's on the computer.
( Fic-related ramblings behind the cut )
Health-wise...I think I'm getting old. I'm beginning to have some real problems with my joints. I've always had wrist-issues - I spend way too much time writing or typing - but recently it's not just that. Weirdly, I'm fine during the day, but I can't sleep for pain. It's as if as soon as I lie down my body decides it's okay to break. My knees, my ankles, my shoulders just hurt. It's making my cranky during the day 'cause I'm not getting enough sleep.
I changed my layout. Ta-da! I still need to make some tweaks to the CSS but it's looking good. I'm using Bloggish because it's the most versatile layout available on all the LJ clones. I prefer Smooth Sailing. I adore Smooth Sailing but I cannot make it work the same way on all the sites. It's weird. I managed to import the code into a custom layer, got all my customisations in place, but the exact same code looks different on LJ, IJ, JF and ScribblIT. It's minor stuff, but darn it, I want a layout that will make my journal clones look exactly the same. So, Bloggish wins. The stylesheet is the most complex I've ever seen, but the plus side of that is it's very versatile. Pretty cool.
I saw The Spiderwick Chronicles on Saturday - I plan on posting a proper review later. But one thing I must say right away: They had salt on all the window sills! Yeah, I know it's dumb, but I missed a good three minutes of the movie thinking happy Supernatural thoughts after that little moment. I so wanted to see wee-Dean come along and show those obnoxious kids how it's done. In fact...that would make a great fanfic!
