And the great LJ strike is over...
Mar. 22nd, 2008 07:55 amTo judge by my flist, the strike was actually quite effective. I'm not judging by posts. My ljtoys hit counter showed my journal got less than half the usual number of hits...and folks, that's what will count to SUP. They don't care who posts and comments, they care how much traffic they have because that translates into ad revenue for them. Of course my stats are hardly representative, since my journal is all fandom, but it's an indication. So maybe it acheived something.
Never Say Die is almost at 42,000 words. Eight chapters. Yesterday I did my fourth re-write of the climactic demon-confrontation scene and I think I finally have a version I'm happy with. Well, sort of. It needs the eye of a beta and I'll no doubt have to re-write again and again but I've got the shape of it now. Next I have to answer some of the questions the characters have been putting off (exposition, talking heads - hard to make that interesting) and give John another love scene 'cause the guy has earned it! Then I'll be on the home stretch. With this being Easter I'm hoping I can finish the story this weekend, at least in outline.
Today I'm meeting
thanatos_kalos for brunch and gossip, then off to the movies.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
