Things to be happy about
Sep. 16th, 2012 10:45 am- Mum went shopping yesterday. First time since she was released from hospital that she's left the house. I wasn't there: I'd gone into Cardiff as usual and thought Sis would just take Mum's list. But Sis wanted Mum to get out of the house so she talked her into going. Sounds like it was quite the military operation *g*. Book the use of a wheelchair at Tesco (Mum usually uses a walker but with only one good hand she can't). The Useless Fiance pushed the wheelchair (proving himself less than useless for once) and Sis pushed the trolley. Mum's first words when I got home from the movies? "We had fun today!" Win.
- Avengers is out on DVD on Monday. I have the six-movie box set on pre-order. I'm stingy about postage so I likely won't get it until mid-week, but that's okay because I won't really have time to sit and watch until the weekend.
- I am about to break 70K on my Sentinel Cyberpunk novel. (ETA: 70.5k - official!!!) I suspect, on editing, I'm going to have to cut or at least tone down much of what I've written this week, but it's still good stuff.
- I have beef and mushroom casserole in the slow cooker.
- And, hey! Strictly is back! Saw the launch show last night. What a great line up! (Though some of the pairings confused me a tad.)
And something I'm less happy about:
- Once Upon A Time season one is out for pre-order...but only in DVD. Where's the BluRay release? Amazon has the US BluRay available but states it's region A/1 only - does anyone know if that's true? A lot of BluRays are not region coded - I guess it's cheaper to use the same print for every market. (I need some OUAT icons.)
