Meet Honey
Oct. 15th, 2023 01:23 pmThis is Honey. She is three years old and a pure-bred chihuahua.

When she’s good we call her Honey; when she’s bad she’s the Honey Monster 😀. But even when she’s bad she’s adorable.
She was a lockdown puppy, so she’s not as sociable as she should be, but we do have another dog so she has a friend. She’s excellent at sniffing out rats (I so wish I didn’t know this), and, apparently, illness. When Mum got an infection Honey knew something wasn’t right and didn’t like it at all - we only realised after the fact that she’d known it. Next time she behaves like that we’ll know we need a doctor (though given what we went through trying to get Mum help, I hope that doesn’t happen again). Still, smart dog.
Honey will bark at absolutely anything, and will invent things to bark at if she wants to. She’s the only dog I know who not only chases her tail - she frequently catches it! The look on her face is hilarious.
She likes to climb up behind her people when we sit on the sofa. She’ll perch herself on the cushion behind you and just curl up there and sleep. I think it’s her version of a cuddle. Also Sis says she’s a brilliant alarm clock. Sis is one of those people who will over-use the “snooze” button on her alarm clock, but Honey won’t allow it: once she hears the alarm she’ll bother Sis until she gets up. (Lesson: don’t sleep with dogs.)
Anyhow - that’s the latest addition to our family.
